Research interest: He has been working on bird diversity, freshwater turtle (Malayemys spp.) genetic and diversity. His background is wildlife toxicology where he conducted his MSc thesis on organochlorine pesticide in egg of little egret and studied sex determination of snail-eating turtle for his dissertation. He has published his research on pesticide in aquatic invertebrate and heavy metal in little grebe egg at wastewater treatment pond. Furthermore, he has supervised previous graduate students in breeding ecology of purple swamphen, arsenic contamination near gold mine area, risk assessment (Dermal contact) of pesticide in kale farmer and determination of amoxicillin in synthesis water.

Thesis topic
Monthakarn Mokarat (Ph.D, candidate)
Joined the program in 2019. She is interested in heavy metal contamination from e-wasting relate to DNA of Khorat snail-eating turtle. Additionally, she will study methylmercury in turtle blood.
Apichaya Ruangsakunchai (M.Sc.)
Joined the program in 2019. She is studying “ Distribution and genetic relationship of snail-eating turtle (Malayemys spp.) at the upper and the middle the Mun River Basin, Thailand.
He has worked on soil pollution, Phytoremediation, Bioavailability of heavy metals in food chain, soil environmental microbiology- especially soil bacteria and fungi, and Intellectual property management

Erawan Boathong (Ph.D. candidate)
Hydrogel from water hyacinth for heavy metal adsorption
Suthantip Srithabuth (Ph.D. candidate)
Influencing of Physico-Chemical Factors and Biological Factors on Chemical Composition of Extracellular Polymeric Substance and Existence of Burkholderia pseudomallei
Her areas of interest are ecological economics and forest management. She has participated in various natural resource management projects, especially community forest management, wetland livelihoods, restoration of salt-affected soil areas, economic valuation and payment for forest ecosystem services.

Thesis topic
Mrs. Ployrada Phumee
A Ph.D. student entered the program in 2014. Her Ph.D. dissertation is about ecosystem services from community forests worldwide, including three case studies at Hui Luang River Basin, northeast Thailand. Her research objectives are quantifying ecosystem services from community forests worldwide and examining factors relating to user accessibility to the ecosystem services. Miss Ployrada already defended her dissertation. Now, she is working on her manuscript.
Future student opportunity
All students who are interested in ecological economics and forest management, especially community forest management and payment for ecosystem services, are welcome to apply for the degrees and work with Dr. Pagdee. Now, she is co-advising a Ph.D. student from Chungnam National University on her dissertation about bamboo vegetation ecosystem services.
Research interest: Her background is avian ecology, but have been working with wide range in the field of ecology including plant taxonomy, plant-animal interactions (seed dispersal and pollination). She enjoys working in the field especially with tropical forest birds where she has joined the nest predation project to investigate avian nest success, factors affecting avian nest predation and nest predators. She is also interested in monitoring invasive species.

Thesis topic
Kornkanok Wongwila
Joined the program in 2019. She is interested in the effects of land use patterns on pollinator community by looking at species diversity, distribution, and pollinator community in different land use patterns (residential area, agricultural areas, abandoned areas, and forest area) at landscape level focusing on 4 main insect pollinators (Hyninoptera, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and Diptera) in Khon Kaen Province.
Kunlanan Thongsuk
Joined the program in 2020. She is interested in habitat use of a critically endangered bird Yellow-breasted Bunting (Emberiza aureola). She plans to investigate the characteristics of wintering ground of YBBT (resting, roosting, and feeding ground) at Kaeng Lawa wetland where YBBT are most sighted in Khon Kaen Province.
Future student opportunity
I’m currently not accepting graduate student. An opportunity will be opened in the near future (2022) for students who are interested in bird ecology, insect pollination, seed dispersal and monitoring of invasive species.
Research interest: Evolution of dispersal and movement, Animal ecology, population and community ecology (focus on butterflies and other insects), Molecular ecology and Biological control
